We often get so wrapped up in responding to all of the JRTs in need that we don't have the time (or energy) to share the many happy adoptions that we have! Many people say that they could never be a foster because they would get too attached and not be able to part with their rescue dog and some of us can't which is evident by one of these Happy Tails:) But when the right adopter comes along it brings unimaginable joy mixed with just a touch of sadness... Here are a few of our recent happy tails....
Pippin
This is Pippin with his new owners Jim and Donna S . Pippin came from the Pasadena Humane Society. He had been adopted and ironically named Lucky by his new family, however when he was neutered a low grade heart murmur was detected and they returned him to the shelter.
He was fostered by Debi and Roy D. in Ventura (new owners of Lilly) and adopted about 3 weeks later. He is now an official campground host with his new family. His first assignment was Carpinteria State Beach but he is now on his way with his family to his new assignment for the summer at a campground on a river in Washington. His new family have fallen in love with him and Pippin has really taken to his role as campground host pup.
Augie
Augie is the cause of a spectacular foster failure. Originally from Ojai where he was kept crated most of the time he settled in with the Matlocks immediately and became fast friends with his 'soul brother', Ziggy, another JR Rescue pup. He spends hours every day running and playing in the yard and house and then sleeps under the covers every night at the foot of the bed. He is a big clown.
