Girlfriend's journey before she came to Russell Rescue was a happy one, she was loved and warm and well taken care of. Unfortunately, her owner died and like many people who love their dogs and don't think they'll be left uncared for, she had not made any provisions for 9 year old Girlfriend. Family members took her to the pound. Frightened and sad she waited at a high kill shelter in Los Angeles where she was passed by for younger dogs until Russell Rescue came to get her in the NICK of time...
At first...we thought she was depressed due to her recent trauma and loss...then we became alarmed. Girlfriend is now hospitalized and battling for her life with pneumonia and unstable glucose levels.
We are asking for donations to help Russell Rescue pay for her continued care.
